Early morning streaks of orange light cast such eerie shadows across the tall jungle trees. The way the vines crept over everything and life stirred and yet... didn't stir just seemed to interest the young explorer all that much more! The dew on the foliage dripped here and there, making little patter noises as her first step out of the ship crunched against the grass and for a moment she froze in place, just staring right at it as though for a moment. Could this really be a good idea? Swallowing hard her dark magenta eyes went back up in front of her, and she slowly moved out of the ship and into the jungle around them. The morning was slightly chilly, but luckily she had grabbed one of her light grey thin sweaters before heading out the door. Her delicate pale hand reached down, plucking it carefully from how she placed it over her dark green messenger bag. With a bit of a shiver she pulled the light grey fabric over her light blue tank top and sniffled a bit.
"Interesting..." her voice was hushed in the morning air as she started move into the jungle forest slowly. She couldn't help but turn and twist once she was three feet out, learning the landscape of the entrance. She took her time with it, moving away slowly. Once she reached about twenty feet from the entrance of the ship, she stopped by a nearby tree and pulled a long ball of red yarn. With a bit of a delight smile she tied it carefully to a branch before she turned once again to start wandering out into the forest, all the while she unraveled the yarn bit by bit like an extra long leash. Her jeans scraped against each other as she ducked under a low branch and pushed a large leaf out of her way. She pulled her tablet out, and clicked a few buttons to record as she looked around.
"Day one of my adventure on this amazingly beautiful planet!" She glanced to the tablet as it recorded and bounced along happily. "I can taste the flavor of this planet in the air! It's strange... earthy and green with this underlying scent that... that's incredible!" her joyous smile proudly displayed as she looked up above her and around before looking back to it. "I'm looking today for fruits to bring back to the colony. I'm hoping to make friends with someone in the science department who can properly break down the chemical compositions. I want to find renewable food sources. I know we have supplies and stuff but... wouldn't it be so much cooler if we could live off the planet?" Lien's eyes looked to the camera, her mind off in the clouds till her foot happened to meet with a root raised up a bit from the ground. It held fast to her right foot, but her left foot quickly caught her but the motion sent her forward further to crash her left shoulder first into a large tree. For her lack of care, she was rewarded with a nice scrap on her forearm, a rip right into her sweater's arm, and a jerked leg.
With a groan she rose slowly from where she had caught herself, seeing the scratches of the wood on her arm as well as the tear in her shirt. She winced slightly and move a clean piece of the jacket onto the small scratches and applied pressure to them, making her nose scrunch but the pain ebbed and left quickly. Lien turned, leaning back against the tree she had fallen on and brought the tablet to her face. She inspected it, making sure she had not smacked it against anything before looking back at the camera with a bit of a smirk. "Alright so it's not safe to move around and talk to you so I will continue this log later.. let's hope I can find something great! Oh and... maybe we should talk to the engineer team about coming up with a way to hook cams to us when we explore!" she laughed and pressed the button to stop the recording before carefully tucking it back into the bag and snapping it closed. She glanced around and frowned when noticed... in the stumble she had dropped her red yarn. "Really?" she whined to herself and pushed the bag onto her butt before squatting down and... crab walking around to look for the yarn so her hands were not getting dirty and she was free to use them to push around the rather dense foliage.
