The elevator door opened.. it took this long to sink in that he had called her lovely. Was he flirting or just being nice?? “Oh my… Im lovely? Do I call him lovely back? Do I just ignore it, was he just being nice? Oh my just ignore it Cat just ignore it. Cat argued with herself in her head, focusing hard on the ground. Just then the rounded to her room. She scooted to the edge of her seat and pulled a key out of her jacket pocket and unlocked the door. Once inside Cat decided to speak, “So here’s my room.”
The room was dark. It was a simple room, nothing special. There was a bed in the corner with plain white bedding, and two pillows. On the end table next to the bed were a small lamp and a clock. There was a dresser off to the side and a closet filled with clothing. On the other side of the room a door lead to the bathroom. Cat has scooted back into her seat yet again, but now she was half turned around looking at the doctor. “You’ll have to flip a light on, I can’t reach it from here.” She smiled up at him.

As they got off of the elevator and moved down the hallway, Jordan noticed that Catrina was unusually quiet. Before she was more than happy to talk, whether he wanted her to or not, but now there was nothing. He pushed her down the hallway, the hover-chair floating silently over the glossy floor. As they neared her room, he slowed his pace. He moved her just in front of the door so she could open it.
As they moved into the room he looked around at the furnishings. Wonder why she hasn’t decorated or personalized her room yet. She doesn’t seem like the kind of person to be ok with a cookie cutter room. At her request, Jordan reached over and turned on the lights. As the room filled with light, he moved her close to the bed and positioned himself to help her out of the hover-chair. He reached down and put one had on her shoulder and extended the other, offering it to her.

“Let’s get you out of that chair.”
Cat took his hand and with a groan and a pull she was to her feet. She hobbled a bit til she could sit down on the bed. The sheet had fallen to the ground and there she was once again in her underwear. The poor girl blushed a bit and pointed to the dresser. “Do you mind grabbing me a pair of sweat pants from the bottom drawer? I would do it, but I’m supposed to rest, ya know..” She said the last bit with a bit of a smirk.
The bottom dresser drawer was full of nothing but pants. About 2-3 pairs of sweats and then some denim jeans and a few nicer slacks all folded neatly. Cat smiled at the nice doctor as she reached up to pull her hair down out of the pony tail. Oh gross it was still so mangled and crusty, she was going to have to wash this as soon as possible. Once the doctor left that would be the first thing she would go try and tackle… a shower without getting her bandage wet, this should be fun.

After Jordan helped her to the bed and her sheet had fallen to the floor, it struck him that Catrina was now in just her underwear and a jacket. In a clinical setting this would not bother him, and if she wasn’t so bother it might not effect him anyways. But couple the fact that she was embarrassed and they where now out of the clinical areas, Jordan became slightly uncomfortable. He blushed ever so slightly before spinning towards the dresser she had pointed at.
”Yeah! No…no problem.” He stammered as he made his was to the drawer and pulled it open. He grabbed a pair of sweatpants and walked back to Catrina, making sure that he couldn’t see below her waist. ”Is there anything else you need help with before I go? Anything I can do for you?” He asked as he handed her the pants.

Cat took the pants from Jordan and quickly stuck both her feet into the grey sweats. Once both legs were in she pushed herself up into a standing position and gently pulled them up over her bandages and let them rest on her hips. She smiled feeling accomplished that she had just put pants on all by herself. She glanced over at the doctor and reached up without noticed and tried to run a hand through her hair and failed. It just got stuck right from the get go. Gross
"No I think I’m good, thank you for walking me back to my room and fixing my leg. So I have to come back in two days right? To change the bandage.. and rest and don’t get it wet, right? I think I got this.” She said with a smile as she dropped her hand back down to her side. She was ready for him to leave so she could get cleaned up as much as she liked making new friends she felt disgusting.

Jordan made sure to keep his eyes averted while Catrina slipped into her pants. He turned back to her when she answered him. His attention was immediately drawn to the matted, muddy, bloody mess that was her hair. He smiled back at her and gave her a little nod.
”Ok. I’ll see you in two day then.” He said before turning to the door. Before he started walking he turned back to her. ”I’m in F26 if you need anything.” With that he walked towards the door. He stopped one last time and turned around to face Catrina and sighed. ”The minute I leave from here you’re going to try and take a shower or bath aren’t you?” He said while looking her dead in the eye with no smile on his face.

“F26, got it.” She said with a smile.
”The minute I leave from here you’re going to try and take a shower or bath aren’t you?”
Catrina’s jaw almost dropped at the seriousness of his question. “I… what, no never…..” She paused briefly, “well maybe…. Okay yes… geez. But seriously look at this!” She said pulling at her matted hair, ”It has to be washed it need it!” She sighed and groaned plopping a little more harshly onto the bed then she meant to.

”I thought so". He said as he strode back towards Catrina. He knew that she wasn’t going to listen to him. He knew that from the minute they started talking in the ER. She was going to do what she wanted. He sighed again and ran his fingers through his hair.
”Look. I’ll help you wash your hair. Then you can sponge bath on your own, and you’ll stay away from the shower and bathtub. Deal?” Without waiting for an answer he walked over to the bathroom door and opened it. He reached inside and flipped on the light. Inside, it was just a simple tiled bathroom with a bathtub/shower combo. And the showerhead was detachable. Perfect He thought. He turned back around and looked at Catrina.
”Hop back on the hover-chair. I’ll lower the back so that you’re laying down and position you so that I can wash your hair over the bathtub.”

”Look. I’ll help you wash your hair. Then you can sponge bath on your own, and you’ll stay away from the shower and bathtub. Deal?”
Cat blushed once more at the idea of the doctor helping her wash her hair, not that there was anything bad going on, she just didn’t like the idea of feeling so helpless. She nodded her head in agreement but it was too late he had already walked off to the bathroom to set things up. When he told her to get back into the chair she groaned a little… that meant standing up again. She did it however and without too much noise. Now plopped back in the hover chair she waited for Jordan to wheel her to the bathroom so she could finally get all this filth out of her hair and then she would sponge bathe as he had requested, after he left of course.
“Okay, lets do this, JD. Im ready to get all this grim out of my hair and off of me and then I think a nap is calling my name. Don’t you agree?” She beamed at him with an amused smile.

”Yes, I think a nap would be a good idea.” He said as he walked over and grabbed the hover chair. ”And please don’t call me JD. If you have to call me Jordan.” He grabbed the handles and started pulling the chair backwards into the bathroom. After he had pulled her through the door he lowered the chair so that it was flat and finished positioning the chair and himself so that Catrina’s head was just over the tub and within his reach. He reached over and turned the water on and then reached up and grabbed the showerhead. He switched the water from the tub faucet to the showerhead and tested the water temperature. Good temp. Not to hot or cold.
”Here we go. He said as started soaking Catrina’s hair. The water pouring into the tub was far from clear. The pinkish brown water flowed down the drain taking clumps of mud with it. Catrina’s hair when from a hard, crusty feeling to a sticky mess. While holding the showerhead with one hand, he ran his free hand through her hair to make sure it was all getting wet.
”Where is your shampoo at? He asked as he lowered the showerhead into the tub.

I still like JD better… She thought to herself as he walked over and took hold of the hoverchair. He wheeled her into the bathroom and leaned her back. Cat stiffened a little but slowly began to relax. She had never done this before, let someone wash her hair, this was new. Then again a lot of things were new to her. Here we go he said and so it began. He soaked her hair down and Catrina just laid there and let him do his business. It was kind of relaxing.
“Where is your shampoo at?” Jordan asked.
“Down there.” She said pointing towards the back of the tub where there sat three separate bottles. Two green ones, one labeled conditioner and one labeled shampoo, and then a pink bottle labeled body wash. “Thanks for doing this…” She said softly tilting her head a little back so she could try and see him.

He reached around Catrina and was just barely able to grab the shampoo. He popped the lid open and looked at her. His hair was short, and he knew how much shampoo to use, but with her…there was so much hair. He had no idea how much was needed. Oh well. he thought as he poured what he hoped was enough shampoo into his hand. He reached down and put one arm on either side of her head, leaning slightly closer to her so he could reach all of her hair. He rubbed the shampoo in, making sure to get all of it covered. As it started to plaster together, he then proceeded to massage it deep into her scalp.
”Your welcome.” He said glancing down to give her a small smile before looking back up to focus on the task at hand. ”Besides,” he said, continuing to massage the shampoo onto her scalp and the hair closest to it. ”you would have tried to do this on your own and probably fallen or got your bandage wet.”

Oh wow he’s close to me… Cat thought as the doctor leaned in to get both arms around her head and scrub the shampoo in. It was a little awkward to have him face to face with her like this but she tried hard not to show it. It was nice to have human contact, her work she doesn’t get much of it. She’s always on the other side of the camera while staring at people and things, never really interacting with them.
“So, Doc, have you been outside the ship yet… its beautiful. So much life, and so different than what the history books tell us of what Earth was like. There are so many plants and life forms, not that I ran into many life forms, a few bird like things and some bug like critters it all I really got around to seeing. But none the less, beautiful. You should go out with me sometime.” Cat closed her eyes as he finished up with the shampooing and began rinsing it out.

Jordan chuckled at her invitation. ”Moving a little fast aren’t we?” He asked sarcastically. ”I didn’t know washing your hair would lead to a date.” He continued to spray the shampoo out while running his free hand through her hair to feel if it was all gone. Her hair was now back to the normal red, at least what he thought the normal color would be. ”To answer your question: No, I’ve not been out of the ship. Been too busy working.” He said more seriously. He reached over and turned the water off before ringing out the excess water from Catrina’s hair. He stood back up and looked around for a towel. He grabbed the first one he found and handed it to Catrina.
”You’re on your own with the sponge bath.” He said, smiling at her. “Just remember, keep it dry. Don’t take it off. I’ll see you in two days to change it out. If you need me, you can call me at the medical wing or come find me in my room. About the only two places I go.” The last sentence he muttered more to himself than anything. He turned towards the door and paused. He looked back over his shoulder at Catrina.
”After I change your dressing, we’ll talk about this ‘outing’ you mentioned.”

Instantly Catrina’s face turned bright red. “No! N-no, that’s not what I was meaning at all!” She kinds tripped over her own words, as she reached up to cover her face while he nonchalantly finished up her hair. He quickly returned to his normal serious self and answered her question. She took the towel that was handed to her, the red in her face finally starting to fade some. Sitting upright in the hover chair she started to towel her hair off, rubbing at his vigorously.
The sponge bath, right yea, on her own – she blushed again. She nodded her head lowering the towel and turning slightly to lay it on the edge of the tub. She couldn’t reach the bathroom counter to get her brush while sitting down so gently she pushed herself into a standing position. She took the brush in hand and started brushing out her vivid red hair. There were a few tangles but for the most part the doctor had done an excellent job washing it. “Right, dry and two days, got it. Thanks again.
”After I change your dressing, we’ll talk about this ‘outing’ you mentioned.” Cat smiled brightly, she liked this idea, he needed to get out of the ship so, get some sunlight, it would be good for him. Just before he turned to go again she chimed in, “Don’t you wanna take your chair with you? I don’t need it anymore.” She grinned motioning to the hover chair.
