Jennifer paused, staring back into Jet's eyes, as he stared into hers, seeing that pained by burden's job. The guy seemed like a stand up chief, one that would up hold his duties. But then she heard those words. Was this something that would come? Was the Constable thinking of making a bid for power? Jenny would need to keep her eye on the security chief. It wasn't exactly her area, but she knew that she would need to help out in internal matters. And the fact that she suspected that Jet might make that bid for power...seemed like she should ready her troops for a fight if need arise.
All suspicions aside, she shook her head, as she spoke, "I know that we can do it. I'm willing to put my life on the line to make it so. The safety of the colony and my troops depends on me."

"We all want safety. But will it be possible?" Jet questioned the Military Commander. Just like the fire that they had just put out, no one can really know when danger would arrive. Danger only happens in the most unexpected of places. It ticked off Jet that the Military Commanded assumed that she and her troops would know when and how to stop the slithering amounts of danger. Jennifer was being so naive and generic, they were simply just words of comfort. Until she can prove that she and her troops can do their job, everything at this point is all in theory. Jet hopes that Jennifer could swim into the forces of danger, into the new unknown, but he continued to be skeptical.
"Anyways, I wish you the very best, but I must now continue myself into my own offices. It was nice to have met you." he nodded and walked away in the depths of the hallways.

Jennifer was certainly being optimistic of their chances, but she would stop at nothing to force this last colony of the human race; no matter what danger they met along the way. She would cling to the hope they represented... She didn't know why though. Perhaps it was because that strong (possibly fatherly) voice told her too. She nodded her head to her internal counterpart, heading down the opposite way, before calling out, good luck, Constable."
