Her father was the head chef of many world wide famous restaurants in China, Europe, America, and even Japan. His name was known and his wife was his sous chef, by his side to share his love and passion. When he learned his wife was with child, he knew he had to get their child, his only hope.. onto the ship. Together the entire family worked hard and managed to earn a spot for the baby. Her father catered political events often, and sought many of his connections to find a way to get his daughter on. After she was born, they only had a few months to spend with her before it was time to place her into the pod and give her up. Before that though they tried to expand her mind by teaching her from her birth about colors, numbers, shapes, names. They did their best to raise her. With a teary goodbye her father, mother, aunts, uncles, and even a few cousin said goodbye to the precious girl. They gifted her with a special necklace so she would always have a connection to them.Age: 22

Personality:
When she's not in her chef uniform and just being a regular person she's very well known for being very kind, caring, sweet, but very reserved. When not in uniform she can even be quite shy at times, and though she would never admit it... she's terrified of being in the dark. She has a deep love of the culinary world, and is more than happy to talk to people about food, cooking, or even the ingredients in food. When she's not in the kitchen trying something new, or preparing meals for the members of the crew members of The Hyperion, she can be found in the library researching about their past, their foods, their heritages. She finds other cultures to be amazing, but her love for China and her ancestors is deep within her. She adores things from China, wanting to know more and more about her past and about who she was and where she came from. But her obsession with the culinary world extends into almost all nationalities. If not in either of those places, then you can bet she's out roaming Kylion in search for more exotic ingredients in her dish. Though, when she is out she's usually very careful in where she goes. She's very intelligent, and has good common sense when going out into Kylion. She never ventures too far... as she's terrified at the idea of being lost and stuck out on the strange planet at night. Darkness scares Lian above all else.. the idea of something being there and waiting for her terrifies her beyond anything else.
Though if one met in the kitchen, you would never think any of these things about her. When in the kitchen she's strict, stern, and down right deadly with the blades she uses. She does not allow her staff to slack off either, running a very tight ship. Even when things are slow she is very well aware that it's only a matter of time before things pick right back up again and so is always making sure someone has something to do and not just standing around.
Appearance:
Standing a little short at 5'4" no one would ever really see Lian as dangerous or intimidating. With her shoulder length chocolate brown hair, and the most peculiar dark magenta eyes. Her figure is rather lithe, allowing her to get around the kitchen with ease. Around her neck, at all times, there is a charm necklace. One from her mother, a small jade Lotus. From her father, an 8 millimeter dark seawater pearl that he found in his studies of culinary. There are a few from aunts, uncles, and cousins, and one last charm that is a Z for the family name.Role Play Sample:
The sun was just barely coming up, and already the young woman was moving around her room and getting her things together. Her hair was tied into a tight bun on top of her head, keeping all stray hairs in place with hairspray. Her white cap slid over it easily before she pushed a few bobby pins in to keep it right in place. Heading towards her door she paused at the mirror and made sure her uniform was perfect. The pressed black slacks, slide and oil proof black sneakers. Her pressed Chef jacket was bleach white, perfectly creased and clean. She paused to roll up her sleeves as she turned, making sure there were no stray hairs sticking out, and that the back of her clothes were just as presentable as the front. With her finally check over done, she lifted up her black chef bag that contained all of her knives, and a dark purple bag with her personal items, and headed out of her room and out into the hall to head towards work. As she traveled she smiled and gave nods to those she passed, always respectful. Though not many were awake at this hour... or they were heading to bed after the late shift. A nice five minute walk later, she reached the kitchen and turned the lights on rather quickly. It took a moment but the lights snapped on one by one, filling the silver metallic kitchen with light and showing her.. a beautiful sight. Everything was spotless clean... her cleaning crew last night had really done well. Pausing for a moment, she pulled her tablet out from her purple bag and made a note as she started to walk around the kitchen and inspect it a little, moving towards her very small office in the back. She placed her things into it, but kept the tablet and knives.
Mornings like this she adored... no one was here and she had complete roam over her realm. Her fingers touched the tablet gently, the silence of the kitchen was amazing. She knew the breakfast crew in another kitchen had already started on their meals, and as she flicked her finger across the tablet she pulled up some notes for her magenta eyes to quickly scan through them and remember where she had been with her experiments of flavor and creation. Without another thought she turned to the head to the pantry and she gathered everything she would need on one giant cookie sheet before setting it near her and wiggled a bit as she stood in place. "And now... we begin our Iron chef challenge! The secret ingredient for today is..." she paused, moving to her tablet and gave the screen a few flicks before frowning when she saw the random choice. "Bananas." she mumbled the word and groaned before stomping her feet. "Fine!" she pouted and turned, able to be child like with no one around as she went back to the pantry to find the bananas for her challenge of the morning.
