Charli had been feeling something for the past 24 hours. She wasn't quite sure what it was. The feeling rippled across her abdomen in a most confusing way. It wasn't a pleasant feeling. She couldn't figure out what it was. It wasn't something she had felt before. Being raised in a cryogenic freezer didn't exactly help her to identify issues with her body. She hoped she wasn't sick. That could be awfully upsetting to her plans.
Her feet took her toward the kitchens. She wasn't paying much attention to where she was going. Her mind was trying to figure out the feeling in her gut. Was it fear? No way. She was too strong to be afraid. As she found herself at the door of the kitchen, it finally occurred to her that she could be hungry. Was this what hungry felt like? It couldn't hurt to try food. She hadn't actually eaten since she had been awoken. What would food be like? What kind of food was good to eat? She really wasn't sure.
With a quick glance around the dining room and kitchen, Charli told herself she was alone. She found her way to the cupboard and pulled it open, looking puzzled.

Jennifer kept her breathing stable, as her legs kept moving, running along the corridor. She heard her footsteps around herself, her mind going through a few strategies she had in her mind, keeping her mind and body fit. Then that feeling came over her, though she had felt it before. It came whenever she was the most active really. When she needed the energy. She fixed her path; choosing one that brought her outside of the kitchen, where sh stopped., bending over, her hands to her knees. Jen's breaths were deep, big inhales, and big exhales.
Jenny let the door slide open, taking a step inside, and spotting her fellow leader, staring inside one of the cupboards. "Seems like I'm not the only one that's a wee bit hungry, 'ey," she spoke, in that heavy British accent, as she moved over to where the head of internal affairs stood.

Charli started and turned as a woman burst through the doors. Her hand automatically moved toward the gun at her waist. Her fingers hovered over the weapon automatically. Was the woman a threat? She studied her body language. The girls face was slightly flushed, her breathing deep. She had been running- but to or from?
As the girl spoke, Charli evaluated her. She seemed harmless enough, but the sudden shock rendered her muscles on alert. Keeping one eye on the new entrant, she turned her attention back toward the cupboard. Her fingers found a can of tuna and she examined the label. "Where are the food experts when you need them?"

Jennifer let out a small laugh, before she replied, "I'm not sure, it would be handy of them to leave directions, eh?" She had decided to let the movement to the weapon go, assuming the girl was someone high up; then it hit her. as her eyes did another observation, she couldn't help but feel that feeling that she liked the way the woman's curves look. So, it wasn't just her female soldier that caused this. Was this attraction she felt? That would be strange, the one that created her would have wanted a daughter that could help reproduce the race. Or perhaps it was just one of those things that proved that she was but a tool for the colony.
Her head shook, before she added, "Commander Jennifer Smith, at your service," having that strangely official sounding voice.

Charli relaxed- just a little. This woman was the Military Commander. Of course! It was fantastic to have another woman in a powerful position. Why hadn't she known about that? A vital part of her programming must have been missed. She would have to look into that.
"Charli James. Head of Internal Affairs." She held out her hand to shake the woman's hand- a sign of respect and courtesy. It would be fantastic to have a friend at the head of the Military. Very helpful to her cause.
Turning back to the cupboard, she put down the tuna and found a chocolate bar. She unwrapped it and sniffed it carefully. "Doesn't seem tooo dangerous."

Jennifer peered at the chocolate bar, observing it a moment, mind thinking over how the bar could be dangerous. "I would think the only way that would be dangerous, is if you were allergic to any of the ingredients..." she spoke, before she added, "that's something. We should have the colony checked for allergies, or other medical problems." The Commander opened another cupbaord, peering around before she reached in and pulled out a small, easy to open can of nutritious shake.

Carefully, Charli snapped a piece of the chocolate bar off and popped it into her mouth. Warm and soft the taste began to spread over her tongue. It was rich, sort of metallic and she couldn't decide if she liked it or not. Frowning, she held the bar out to Jennifer. "What do you think of this?"

Jen observed the reaction between the chocolate bar and the director, staring at it when it was offered to herself. She took a hold of the chocolate, breaking off a piece, and inserted in her mouth. She chewed, finding the taste to be rather...sweet? the substance was rather pliable she noticed; easily chewed. She swallowed the bit, handing the bar back, as she reported, "tastes a bit sweet to me, dunno if yo tasted that bit, but it seems alright. No danger really."

"Yes, certainly not dangerous. I don't know if I'm a fan." Fan? Where had that word come from? It didn't exactly make sense. A fan was a old machine used to create airflow. She frowned slightly at herself and put the chocolate back where she had found it. If it was going to make her mix up her words, she didn't want it. She didn't want any weakness.
She stepped back from the rows of food. "I've changed my mind. I'm not hungry."

Jennifer watched the woman, noticing the way her body moved, the curves of her body, and the way she stepped back from the food. She raised her eyebrow, before she said, "Are you sure? You came down here...you were hungry before? I don't think it's healthy for you not to eat?Yer missing..." she faltered, as the word she needed had escaped, but not lost, as it was captured withing a minute, "...nourishment." Se followed the girl, with just heer eyes, before she took a few steps, before she added, "maybe just eat an apple?"

"An apple?" Charli repeated, not quite understanding. Wasn't an apple a piece of fruit grown on a tree back on Earth? Something meant to be eaten fresh? She wasn't such how she was supposed to find one so far from home. Nevertheless, her eyes scanned the shelves. Dried apples? Was that the same thing?
She picked up the pack and opened it slowly, tasting the contents. Still too sweet, but more to her liking. "That was a good idea. Try."

Jenny watched the woman, as the apple idea seemed to effect the head of internal affairs, as she seemed to consider the option. "Yeah, apples, I'm sure we have some stocked somewhere..." she moved to the cabinets, opening a few, before she looked over at her fellow Head of state, noting that she found something. "I guess fresh apples is out of the question right now, since we're just starting out. I hope we can start exploring the planet--at least the perimeter. Then my people and I can put up some walls. THe egghead can do their tests; and then the civilians can start building up the civilization; if we stay on the planet that is."

The words of the commander hardened Charli against her, almost immediately. By all rights, this woman should be asking permission, not assuming she had a right to speak that way.
"I hardly think that is up to you." There was just a hint of malice. Not a lot, just enough to give her voice an edge, and betray just what she thought about anyone but her making such a decision. And in that moment, she also decided that she would be the one to leave the ship first. She would be the one to take control of the outside world. She was not going to be overshadowed by some blonde military commander who had no authority over her.

Jenny froze a moment, but didn't notice anything behind the words, just that the woman was right. She didn't have the authority, but she didn't argue. It really wasn't. "I know, I'm just a little excited, ya'know? I just want to get out there, make sure it's safe for everyone, fight whatever threatens the colony, " she explained, hoping the Charli wouldn't go running to the captain, and reporting that she was a power hungry military commander. Jen turned her body, placing her palms in the edge of the counter, before lifting herself up, and settling her butt on the surface. From this spot the commander could watch the director, eyes finding something close to comfort in the woman's curves. This caused alarm, the feeling she felt. Wasn't she supposed to feel this towards the men of the colony. This...attraction? She shook her head, side to side, before she asked, "have you met your security counterpart? The Constable seems like good fellow."

Jennifer's explanation settled Charli again. She seemed to be reasonable after all. She bit into another slice of dried apple slowly and thoughtfully. She appraised the Military Commander as she lifted her body onto the countertop. She felt something in the gaze from the woman. She wasn't sure what it was. It felt odd, and for some reason, it brought her a little piece of pleasure. Maybe the woman was silently complimenting her?
"No, I haven't met anyone from Security yet. I suppose I'll know them all too well before long."
