interal monologue - "others speech" - Actions/observations - "own speech"
Tom hadn't exactly been pleased when they had told him he really needed to go and some weapons training they still had little information on exactly what was around the crash site, and if they had to stay they would likely later need to expand so everyone getting some weapons practice was and optional extra, as much as they said it was.
He had agreed to for today go through a basic course in weapons handling and use which would include time with three main types of weapons: Pistols and Submachine guns/PDWs . They began with a all round safety course, including fire mode selection, safteies and all of the very basic stuff. After being showed all of this and listening to what ammounted to a lecture they began with pistols.
Walking over to his firing station he looked down at the pistol, a slightly modified version of a beretta 92FS and picked it up, it was a little heavier than he imagined but he soon got that thought out if the way. Picking up the magazine he slid it into the weapon before pushing the slide forward, chambering a bullet.
Holding the pistol up and looking down its sights he thumbed the saftey off and squeezed the trigger.
He then squeezed far enough and the weapon fired just as everyone else did the same. He blinked a little and recoiled himself slightly before firing a few more shots now not moving but still closing his eyes just before it fired. He paused then fired this time without blinking and he wasn't surprised at how much more accurate the shot was.
Firing a few more shots the magazine was empte and the flicked the safety back on before unload the weapon and pulling the sldie back as he was told to clear the weapon, he then palced them both down on small bench that was in the station as he waited for everyone else to finish.
