Name: Dr. Jordan David McKinley
Age: 22
Race: Human
Origin: Jordan is the son of Dr David McKinley, Ph. D. and Amanda McKinley. David was a famous physicist and worked on the final stages of the Titan Project, specifically on power generation for the ship. Amanda was an elementary school teacher. Shortly after Jordan’s first birthday, Amanda unexpectedly passed away from an aneurysm. David was devastated, but he decided to continue securing a spot for Jordan on one of the colony ships. Jordan was eventually accepted as a member of the Hyperion crew. His aptitude scores showed the most potential in diagnostic, preventative, and curative medicine and he was therefore assigned a spot as one of the ship’s physicians.
Personality: Jordan has a calm and easygoing personality and has a decent bedside manner. He is slightly reserved, but is quick to warm up to new people. He tends to think everyone understand exactly what he is saying and can sometime talk over peoples heads, especially if he is talking to a patient. He does get lost in his own thoughts and can completely zone out at times.
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Appearance: Height: 5’10”, Weight: 167 lbs, Build: Average, Hair: Black, Eyes: Blue
Roleplay Sample: Jordan looked around terrified as the lid to his cryogenic chamber slowly closed. His respirations quickened as he looked from unknown face to unknown face. All he could hear was the muffled chatter of the doctors doing a last minute double check on all of the safety features and vital signs. Tears slowly crept into the corner of Jordan’s eyes and his vision started to blur. This was the most terrifying thing he had ever experience in his four years of life. Suddenly, Jordan noticed a masked man looking through the clear lid at him. “Just remain calm Jordan.” the man said. “Soon your trip will be over and you’ll get out of this tube.” The man’s eye’s wrinkle slightly at the corners as he smiles under the mask. Sadly, it did not have much of a calming effect. But the sweet smelling gasses that were pouring into the tube did.
Jordan’s vision started fading as his breathing slowed and became deeper. He felt as if his body was warming up and cooling down at the same time. The cold seemed to be trying to envelope him, to keep him in this sleep forever, while the warmth fought to wake him up. The cold would start to intensify, but just as quickly the warmth would push it back. The stalemate was never-ending. But suddenly, the warmth kept fighting back. The cold continued to weaken as the warmth started taking over his body. Black became gray, and gray became white. Jordan started to squint as the light intensified. Muffled noises began, and slowly became clear. A computer voice was talking, but Jordan couldn’t understand it. He slowly opened his eyes and raised his hands to shield them. There was nothing but a white blur in front of him. Then color started to fill the world, and his eye began to adjust. He looked around, scanning his surroundings as his vision returned to normal.
“Greeting Dr McKinley. As soon as you have your bearings, please get dressed and we will start waking the rest of the non-medical crew” The computer said. Jordan slowly took a step out of his cryotube and suddenly realized everything was different. All of the equipment was so much smaller. His view of the world so much higher. It was slightly nauseating. He tried to regain his composure as he walked over to the lockers to get dressed. The rest of the medical crew was either already dressed or still waking up. He slipped on the scrubs located in his locker and turned towards the rest of the cryochambers. Although he had never done this before, he knew exactly what he was supposed to do. The knowledge implantation was a success, and now it was time to work.
