Name: Skollti "Sko" Ragnir
Age: 9; based on a drastically increased wolves' captive lifespan (17 years max) his race's lifespan is between 35 and 40 years. Making him equivalent to about 20-odd years of age.
Race: Lupera
Origin: Verdana, a planet of lush forests, large mountains, and bodies of water that extend far beyond what the eye can see. Beautiful though it was, it's just as dangerous. Predators stalking every edge of the landmass. Lupera were likely the most evolved of Verdana's grand repertoire of beasts. Able to walk upright, think, build, and survive. Only a few clans survived long enough to see the incredible cities of today. Clan Ragnir was one of them, a family that for nearly a millennium has been combing the stars. Scavenging ships and stealing neat artifacts, of course. Nobody ever accused the Lupe of being model citizens.
Sko was born into a life of shady business. Even being named after an ancient book his family had stolen about these things called “Wolves” and something about an apocalypse called “Ragnarok.” They called it a “Norse Myth”. There was one Wolf that chased “Sól,” which means sun, named Sköll. Along with his brother Hati, that was chasing “Mani,” or moon. Enamored with stories told by her grandfather, his mother named him Skollti. A combination of the two most powerful Wolves. They stole that book, and a bunch of things called “Vinyls” and “Record Players” that emanated the most amazing sounds ever that was named “Music.” His family stole all this stuff from some planet the inhabitants called “Earth.”
The Ragnir clan lost interest in most of this stuff after Sko's mother passed away when he was a pup, but he never could let it go. After many tests, he found a way to digitize Music and preserve it in a data chip that he kept hidden in his father's ship. It was found once though, and he beat Sko for it. Telling him that he shouldn't waste time trying to invent new stuff while they had a job to do. He could swear his father hated him for being much more like his mother than he was to him. It only got worse from there.
Being that Sko wasn't as large or physically capable as most Lupe, he was treated like nothing more than an errand boy. Like he was worth nothing more than dirt to them, only because he was much more intelligent. To be stepped on and beat was not what he'd wanted his life to be. Once he became of age (about 5 years old), he stole his father's ship Betsy and left to lead a life of his own. Using what tools he'd learned from that shady life to earn a wage. Anything from thievery, to blowing up a building with a powerful explosive. You name it and he can probably do, invent, build, or destroy it.
Personality: A typical Lupe, hot-tempered and willing to pull the trigger on somebody that ticks him off. He may come off as a brute, but he actually is quite intelligent; preferring to stay in his "Zen" state, or so he calls it. Not very trusting as one could imagine, with his background. However, once you reach his inner circle and get him talking he never shuts up. Especially if it's about himself.
Ethnicity: Russet; determined by his reddish brown fur.
Appearance: [will try to get a picture drawn soon] If it weren't for his unnecessary need to stand upright and wear his ridiculous dark grey jumpsuit he could easily be mistaken for a common wolf, albeit a bit smaller. He stands at a proud 3'11 with a reddish brown single coat, more suited to tropical climates, and piercing golden eyes.
Betsy the ship [RIP]
Roleplay Sample:
Autopilot was a beautiful thing, Sko just sat in his comfortable little chair with his paws up on the dash. Glancing over at screens upon screens from cameras surveying planets below until something catches his eye. A crashed ship,
"Oho, what a beauty we've got here." Muttering to himself, mostly, until a response comes,
"Shall I take us down then?" Loud enough to make him almost jump out of his skin, "You know, I forget you can talk sometimes," A snide remark, "yeah, take us down on the opposite side, in case there's anybody down there.." The AI does as he commands, but a sudden shaking chills him to the core.
Class 4 Electromagnetic Storm
The ship sounds off, "You have got to be kidding me!"
It was just supposed to be another day on the job. Find a ship, salvaged the crap out of it, and get paid. What kind of twisted turn of events was this?
warning...
warning...
w-"OH SHUT UP!!" He screams at the ship's AI while frantically flipping switches and pressing buttons. Nothing was working. Mountains quickly approaching, he grabs onto the controls and pulls back. Turbines whir to life, the engines kicking on just enough to soften the collision. His ship wasn't going to go anywhere now, but at least he was alive. Slowly but surely, he limps his way through the now disfigured and smokey corridors to find his gun. A tiny little pulse rifle, that was enormous in comparison to him. He steps off the ship and turns to look at it, a small tear forming in the corner of his eyes as the barrel of the rifle collapses and he places it on his back,
"Poor Betsy..."
