Name: Jasmine Leigh Markus
Age: 20
Race: Human
Origin: The Markus family was an unlikely choice for the colonisation of space. With a mother in the army and a GP father, Jasmine was chosen due to an unusually high IQ level in a small child. She was identified as one of Australia's most important candidates by a nation gene testing program. From the age of 6 months she was entered into a preparation program and started on physical and mental training. Jasmine's selection was not voluntary. Her parents refused to give her up, and as a result, her mother was imprisoned for treason and her father was shot down. The scientists in charge of collecting Jasmine determined that she was too young to be affected by the sight of her fathers death.
Personality: Jasmine is a strong willed young woman with a strong code of ethics. She has a seemingly unexplained fascination with violence. This has resulted in a resentment for authority and the attitude that respect must be earned, not determined by rank or appointment. She mostly manages to keep her emotions inside, but can be triggered quite easily by the right word or action. Whilst she's not physically strong, her personality more than makes up for it.
Ethnicity: Caucasian- Australian.
Appearance:
Role Play Sample: Jasmine sat, legs crossed on top of her cryogenic chamber. She had awoken a while ago- she couldn't tell for how long. Having a sense of time was a new experience. As was movement and consciousness. She stretched her arms out before her, examining the way her muscles moved under the dimmed lights of the chamber. She pushed her palms out away from herself, marvelling in the strain at her elbows and shoulders. It felt wonderful. She rolled her head around. First one way, then another. Her fingers moved through her hair almost as instantly as the thought to do so crossed her mind. It felt thick, rich and luxurious- if a little long.
Jasmine glanced around the room, the other cryogenic chambers were still closed, though she could see the stirrings of movement in some. Her crew mates were beginning to wake up from the sleep that has lasted a lifetime. She wondered to herself what they would be like. These were the people she was to live the rest of her life with. A sigh bubbled from her lips as she waited- not particularly patient or impatient- she just waited for her life to begin.
