(Set one day after chambers began to open)
Jasmine sat, legs crossed on top of her cryogenic chamber. She had awoken a while ago- she couldn't tell for how long. Having a sense of time was a new experience. As was movement and consciousness. She stretched her arms out before her, examining the way her muscles moved under the dimmed lights of the chamber. She pushed her palms out away from herself, marvelling in the strain at her elbows and shoulders. It felt wonderful. She rolled her head around. First one way, then another. Her fingers moved through her hair almost as instantly as the thought to do so crossed her mind. It felt thick, rich and luxurious- if a little long.
Jasmine glanced around the room, most of the other cryogenic chambers were still closed, though she could see the stirrings of movement in some. Her crew mates were beginning to wake up from the sleep that has lasted a lifetime. She wondered to herself what they would be like. These were the people she was to live the rest of her life with. A sigh bubbled from her lips as she waited- not particularly patient or impatient- she just waited for her life to begin.

Just hours after waking up, Jet began to patrol the colony, offering his help whenever and wherever. There was not much else to do so far, in fact, he walked around the colony multiple times, going back and forth. Everything seemed secured for the most part. From what he gathered, there were already a number of freezers opened and there were tons more that are still sealed closed. He began to take a mental note of which living quarters had awakened colonists, so far all of of those he met seemed alert and coherent. After taking his fifth straight walkthrough, he decided to make a sixth.
"EOS, open door"
As the door opened, he peered in and saw a young woman with shiny hair. He did not recall her from his first, second, third, fourth, or fifth walkthrough. Great, someone new to meet. She seemed concern with her own cabinmates, so he began to show his concern for her.
"Are you okay M'am? Can I help you with anything?" he asked.

Jasmine looked up, startled at the new sound that breached her ears as the door opened. A figure appeared in the doorway, silhouetted against the sudden rush of light from outside the darkened room. She gave her eyes a moment to adjust, somehow knowing that they would, without any conscious knowledge of how.
She mashed her lips together, trying to form the movement that would lead to words. For a moment, her voice caught- refused to breach the safety of her lips. She cleared her throat and tried again.
"H-hello."
She beamed at the progress she had made. She had spoken! She had turned conscious thought into sound. She slid forward on her cryogenic chamber, the thin white fabric of her shift catching on tiny impurities of the glass. She stopped as she came close enough to the edge to allow her long legs to dangle from the edge. Happy with her progress, she took a moment to squint at the figure in the doorway. She could make out the body of a man and tried to concentrate on making out his face. It was too dark. She slipped from the edge of the chamber to the floor, intending to land on her feet and feel herself stand for the first time. Her feet hit the ground, but the sensation of weight was too much for them to bear. Her legs gave way beneath her and she crumpled to the floor, experiencing the only physical pain she could ever remember. She grimaced and glanced back at the male figure.
"I think my legs are still kind of asleep. Would you mind?"
Edik moved through the ship as part of the recovery team. Any pods that were opened he was to assist them adjust and be a friendly face to as some had already been sent to Med Bay with minor injuries, himself included. He had been one of the first to awaken and had already met with the Captain. Macala was an interesting man and Edik was going to enjoy serving under him. Althaia had also made an impression on him as she had treated his wound, as he thought about it he ran his finger over the bandaging that now rested there. He didn’t really need it thank to her treatment, but he didn’t want to risk being the first one with an infected wound, then he wouldn’t be a very good Weapons Specialist at that point.
Speaking of weapons, he felt the one he held in his hands. It felt good as he moved the assault class weapon back and forth. He hadn’t seen it before yesterday, but he could deconstruct it then reconstruct it without hesitation. He could, from memory, listed every spec of the weapon from the barrel length and thickness to its origin and predecessor. This particular weapon was from his Motherland Russia, the good ol’ AK-47 with a bayonet attachment, a 4X ACOG, and the always necessary double tied magazines allowing for a quick reload in a combat situation.
The rifle felt good in his hands as he followed behind Jet. The two of them had been patrolling all day and had gone through every room what five, six times now? If he had the patience, he would have just asked the computer to inform them when a new cyrotube opened, but he just wanted it to speak some damn English, but no his father, even far away and most likely dead wanted something to speak Russian to him. Edik just wanted to cut the wires and was contemplating doing it soon when he heard Jet’s voice talking to someone and a female voice respond. He walked in the door and saw the girl fall from her tube to the ground and try to weakly stand up. Edik put his hand on Jet’s shoulder and whispered in his ear.
“Sir. You think she needs medical attention? I could have a couple medics down here in three minutes max to check her out. We’ve already sent half a dozen that way with minor injuries, I’m sure she won’t add to their load. And if you want we could just carry her.”
He wasn’t hesitant to make the call as he already had his comms ready to call the medical team to his location, but there was a ranking officer present and that officer was the Head of Security. Last thing Edik needed was a misdemeanor on his record. He also wasn’t sure how the trials went on around here, hell he was sure no one really knew how they happened, was it as simple as a reprimand from your superior officers or was it much more serious involving a full hearing. “If anything we could atleast get her on her feet and help her start walking. Kinda like helping a toddler with a bicycle, we’ll be the training wheels. Whatever that stuff is.”
Note to future exploration attempts. Why don’t we put all of these things we have knowledge of actually on the ship so we know what the heck we are talking about. Surely they could have found space for a bicycle somewhere on this ship.

“I think she does need some medical attention, this abrupt gravitational change can be drastic to some,” he said lightly to Edik, hoping to not let startle the young woman. “it seems like she needs to be transported to the Medical Unit, she looks bad. Whatever she needs, we’re here for her.”
He walked a couple of steps to her and gently crunched down and offered his hand.
“We’re sorry, we didn’t mean to startle you. Hi, my name is Jet Marciano and this is my colleague, Edik Demidov. I am the head of Security and he is the Weapons Specialist of our colony, the Hyperion.”
Jet was appreciative that he had Edik there with him for support, though he pondered on why such a big man needed his gun with him the whole time. Talk about making a first impression to their fellow colonists. Look, we have big gun! We're so cool. Since it was their first day, Jet decided to let it go for this one time, perhaps they could talk this over with a bear later in the day.
Yes, we can have an old school bicycle(s) on our ship. Driving while under the influence? Heck yes.

Jasmine listened intently to what the two men were saying. She shook her head gently.
"I don't think I need medical attention. I just need to get my muscles working"
She took the hand offered to her gratefully and pulled herself to her feet. It took her a moment, but feeling came flooding into her muscles, with a bout of pins and needles. She wiggled her toes, then proceeded to tense and release each muscle in her legs. She was still a little shaky, but she could stand. She released her saviors hand and smiled, looking embarrassed.
"I don't look THAT bad do I?"
She turned to the second man, who seemed to be hovering back, waiting for confirmation or orders. That made more sense as they were introduced. She smiled a little at each of them.
"I'm Jasmine. I think. I'm a..." She racked her brains for a moment, waiting for her knowledge and training to resurface. "Fitness consultant. In your line of work I'll probably be seeing the both of you regularly."
Steady on her feet now, she readjusted her shift and glanced around.
"Do you know where I could find something a little warmer? This isn't really ideal..."
Jasmine felt goosebumps rising on her arms, and crossed them over her chest, trying to keep warm. "I think you let the cold in when you opened the door."
Edik nodded his head, but he decided to shut the comms as him and Jet could easily just walk her to the med-bay. It wasn’t far and if she fell again, Edik could easily carry her the rest of the way there. He followed Jet closer to the woman who introduced himself and Edik then the woman said her name; even though Edik was sure they already knew each other. Jasmine, as the woman called herself, was apparently the fitness consultant. Edik wondered exactly what that job entailed, but by her remarks, he figured that he may soon learn exactly what it was that she was trained to do.
“Here Jasmine. Have this until we can get you something else.”
Edik moved closer to her and took off his light jacket and put it on her shoulders. It looked massive on her, but he was much larger than her. He gave a small laugh when she said they let in the cold. Edik kept his hand near her back so that if she stumbled again he would be able to help hold her up.
“Lets get to Med-Bay I’m sure Althaia has something to help you with the gravity shift. And will probably run a couple more scans on you just be sure everything is fine ma’am. Sir if you don’t mind leading the way.”

Patting Jasmine's back, he responded to Edik's comment with agreement, "Yes, the Medical Bay is the best place for you right now, these are very intense moments and everyone needs the utmost care during these times of rebirth", nodding into agreement. He was rather impressed with Edik's personable giving attitudes, though he chuckled a little bit as the massive jacket dwarfed Jasmine. Looking back at the fitness consultant, he consoled her "don't worry, you are not the only person to feel these side-effects, many of the other colonists share the same difficulties."
"We also need a very healthy fitness consultant to put us in our places" Jet gave a sly smile back. With Edik's assistance, he helped manage Jasmine's other side, also keeping his hand on her back as well, making sure that she would not collapse with her wobbly legs.
"EOS, open door. Please." Jet slid to the front of both of them, as Edik placed more support on Jasmine, he then began to lead the way out of her chamber.

Jasmine nodded gratefully at Edik as he handed her his jacket. She pulled it tight around her body. "Thank you."
She felt a nagging in her stomach as the men decided she was to go to the medical bay. She didn't know what it was, but she knew she didn't like it. She understood why they were suggesting it. She even agreed with them. But flashes of white rooms and sharp needles kept popping into her mind. She didn't know if it was a memory or something from her training, but it filled her with fear. She automatically began to chew her lower lip- a sign of nerves.
She followed the men though, very aware of Edik's hand behind her back. In fact, it was that knowledge that kept her from running and climbing back into her cryogenic chamber. Besides- what an impression that would make: running scared at the thought of a needle. She was the fitness consultant- she had to be strong. She allowed them to lead her away, into the new world.
