Xander, since having been awakened four days ago, has done so much within so little time. Getting aquatinted with the ship and the departments, he had met with so many people in a short period of time. He had learned and observed so much from the other colonists. Being a librarian, he noticed that he was not as muscled or buff like the other military colleagues, and he began to be slightly embarrassed bout his lack of athleticism, as if supremacy in body tone was some sort of social status with the Hyperion colony... obviously it wasn't but human side told him that he must be like the others and tone up. To save himself from embarrassment, he decided to go the the Gymnasium when it was quiet and hardly in use, so he decided to go in the middle of the night.
Getting out from the locker rooms, he wore a slightly slim t-shirt and shorts that hovered above the knees as well as going bare foot. He wasn't quite sure of the proper clothing etiquette at the Gymnasium, it was pretty much his first time there. As he walked towards the machinery and equipment, ranging from weight lifting to cardio utilities, he saw a punching bag, so he decided that he would do some punching exercises, so he can have more durable hands of course. Going into a fighter stance, he pulled his hands towards his head and crouched his knees towards the floor. Immediately, he punctured his left knuckle into the punching bag.
"AAHHHH. Shit!" he exclaimed, his left knuckle began to bleed, the inexperienced boxer cowered in pain.

Jasmine was in her office, trying to figure out a new roster for her team. Not all of her trainers were awake yet, so she had to make do. She'd been puzzling over it for hours. Her head ached as she cradled it in her palms, putting down her pen. Stressing out was new to her. She didn't like it. Her ears perked up as she heard cursing in her gym. She didn't know if it was a bad thing to be excited by someone elses pain- but hey- anything was better than working out timetables.
She adjusted her tights and shrugged a singlet over her sports bra. She grabbed a first aid kit and jogged out to find the librarian bleeding from his knuckles. She couldn't help herself. A little giggle escaped her lips. "You didn't wrap your hands, did you?" She smiled and held her hands out to see his knuckle. "Let me help?"

As Xander heard the fitness consultant in front of him, he adjusted his demeanor, trying to at least conceal part of the pain, and thus exploiting his idea of masculinity in front of her. Regardless of concealing pain or no pain, he needed his hand to be treated. He used his right hand to cover the bloodied left, relieving some pain but not all. He straightened himself and looked upon her with the remaining confidence he had for himself.
"I guess I was a little mystified with this punching bag, it didn't seem hard at all." he replied, "then again, I may have needed a training partner." he let out.
He removed his shirt and wrapped it around his left hand, as blood continued to pour out. He had hoped that covering the wound would make this situation less embarrassing, but he then realized that he was stripping in front of a young woman, he let out an awkward smile and he stared into her eyes and realized how good she looked. This fitness consultant was a major turn on for him. Her long brunette hair and her luscious lips was kinda of intense for the librarian to handle.

Jasmine smiled at his attempt to conceal how how pain he was in. She knew how intense the pain could be as a result of punching the bag incorrectly- not from personal experience of course, but as a part of her training. Apparently it would be common for crew members not to know how to use her equipment. She wasn't sure she liked the idea of people getting injured due to lack of knowledge. Maybe she could make up signs next to each piece of equipment? She jerked herself out of her thoughts and back to the current situation to find that the man had removed his shirt. She was startled. Sure he wasn't military fit, but he certainly didn't look bad half naked.
As his eyes met hers, she couldn't help but blush. She had never felt an intense gaze like that. She didn't know how to react. Her eyes couldn't seem to pull away. Her voiced seemed slightly distant as she spoke.

As the Fitness Consultant stared back into his eyes, he let out a slight smirk, a sly smile that he could not resist letting out. He heart pounded, feeling rather upbeat, he had never felt this kind of emotion before. He felt rather intrigued, yet rather curious about her. He liked this feeling, it made him more invested. He was now kind of glad that he had gotten hurt.
"Now I'm sorry about giving you a hard time, I'm kind of an idiot here." he said sympathetically, "I bet you were about to go to bed or something, and now you have to deal with this troublemaker."

Jasmine finally managed to pull her gaze away from him. Her teeth pulled at her lower lip as her eyes bored into the floor. She didn't know yet which emotions were good and which were bad. It was a difficult thing to determine, as they rushed powerfully through her mind. Was that strange feeling in the pit of her stomach nausea or nerves? She didn't know the difference.
As he spoke, she smiled slightly, looking back at him, but trying not to get caught in his eyes again. "Nah. I was working on staffing timetables. It was doing my head in. You're a welcome distraction."

Xander smiled back as she replied. Welcome distraction, eh? He saw her looking elsewhere, which prompted him to realize that she was either embarrassed for him or he is making him feel uncomfortable in some sort of way. He was rather perplexed with his own emotions as well. There he was, feeling giddy and overjoyed of meeting a radiant beauty like hers. Trying to keep his cool, he crossed his arms, with the right hand pressuring the left arm.

Not knowing what to say next, Jasmine fiddled with her fingers. How did one hold a conversation? That was a new experience. She bit her lip, mind searching for something appropriate to say. It suddenly occurred to her that some people found it socially correct to introduce themselves. "I'm Jasmine. You're Xander, right?" She searched her mind frantically until the information bubbled from her lips. "The librarian?" What was a librarian doing in her gym? She had really only expected the military people, or maybe someone from internal affairs- certainly not a book worm.

"Yes, I am a librarian. I'm like a hodge-podge of information... you know, I'm the type of guy who has the wealth of useless facts stuck in my own tiny noggin. I must confess, even with so much knowledge, I feel pretty useless." Xander started feeling more comfortable around this fitness specimen, he felt like Jasmine was a beauty of her own right. Could he have a chance with this darling thing called a lady? Could he 'get it on'? Who knew? It was too early for making such deals with Cupid. They had only just met.
"..you never know, you can always use my body... umm, I mean you can always use The Collection if you need to do some researching" he said awkwardly.

Jasmine smiled at his description of himself. She wasn't sure where the surge of happy feeling came from. What did it mean? Was this... funny?
The word useless struck a chord with her. She wasn't exactly sure why, or how, but it resonated somewhere within her. "I don't know, I think that knowing so much is really useful." She wondered what was going through his 'noggin'. There was something in his eyes that she couldn't quite place. It made her insides squirm. Whether that was in a good way or a bad one, she was unable to tell. His next words caught her off guard. Did she hear what she thought she heard? His correction was almost as funny as the awkward tone in his voice. "I'll make sure to do that." She said, grinning. "And you already know you can use mine- my gym that is. Maybe figure out how to use it first, though?"

Seeing her smile left a shutter of joy from his spine, it was electric. Is this joy? Xander felt quite lighthearted, a stare into her eyes became quite consuming, but he liked what he saw. He wondered if he could see more of it.
Smiling, he uttered: "Yeah, it's my first time using your equipment, everything looks new to me. Looks obvious huh? I mean, look how bloody I am! It's like I'm dying." he said sarcastically.

"Surely you have books on all this equipment? I'm sure there's a manual in there somewhere? Maybe you should study up?" She teased, winking almost unconsciously.
She tried and failed to tear her eyes away from his. She was sure this much eye contact would probably be considered odd, and she was sure he'd think she was crazy, but she couldn't move her gaze. She blushed, just a little and lowered her eyelashes. Why was her face red? Why was it hot? She didn't understand why eye contact with a total stranger would have her reacting this way.

"Yes, diligent research is the way to go I guess." chuckling at her remark. "Don't mind if I had a study buddy... you're welcome to join, if you please."
He could tell that she seemed interested in him. Her deep red face was sharp and bright, was this actually what they call a blush? Where was his boundaries? He had none at this point. Wondering if she was capable of healing him up, "...so, do you think I should see a medical professional, you know to check if I'm okay... don't you have paperwork for me to sign too?"

His words quickly brought her back to reality. Right. He was hurt. She couldn't just go around blushing like an idiot. She was ashamed of herself. She shouldn't have let herself get distracted. "Show me." She asked quietly, holding her hands out for the wound. "I'll see if you need a doctor, but I'm fairly sure I'll be able to help."
"As for paperwork, I think we'll be fine. It's not like you can sue me- no lawyers here, and I have nothing to sue for." She smiled again, more carefree now, ready to examine his wound.

"Yeah, take a look at it, if I can't sue you, I hope you could treat me."
He began to feel a little light headed. Would it be because of his loss of blood occurring presently? Or could it be simply being in front of Jasmine? Whatever it was, he began to feel dizzy, slowly swinging around in vertigo. He closed his eyes and poured his head down.
He shared his arm with her, hoping that she would know what to do.
