Adventures inside! [Kai/Open]

In all honestly... he was, soon enough, a bit bored. He didn't usually stay still very long at all unless he was sleeping or otherwise watching something, and right now... he wasn't really doing either. It was a bit early to sleep, and the thought was far at the back of his mind anyway with the prospect of seeing something entirely new. Which... right now, he couldn't even see beyond perhaps a slight bit of light shining through the 'blanket', which didn't exactly tell him anything except that it apparently wasn't dark inside the 'Hyperion'. Why it wasn't when it didn't seem to have anything to let light from outside in, he wasn't really certain, at that.

Oh, how he wanted to move, to see what they were seemingly passing by, but from the way it was seeming, Cat might get upset for some reason if he did. So he sat, his ears occasionally perking up a little to a nearby sound, the likes of which were mostly strange and otherwise his only real indication beyond the sensation of moving that anything was happening. So when the blanket was suddenly pulled off of him, he blinked in slight surprise, taking that immediate moment to start looking curiously around at the place. Strange, surprisingly confined, with spots light was coming from where he was certain light from outside shouldn't be. That was curious.

Nonetheless, he soon enough consented to taking the female's hand and letting her lead him into the next room over. Even the darkness inside didn't really bother him in the slightest; his eyes were plenty good enough for that not to matter much. When light suddenly came, though, he blinked in surprise and slight discomfort before quickly looking over to see if Cat had done anything. From the look of things... she had. Curiously he wandered over, fiddling a little with the switch. Gone and back and gone and back again went the light in turn, but yet it wasn't... coming from anywhere. Maybe. Maybe it was just...

...ah, he didn't know, and it was too far beyond him to be able to consider much about it. This little thing controlled the light in the room; that would just have to settle it for his observations on the matter. Now, everything else...

"Er... bed?" he inquired curiously, pointing over to the thing in the corner that looked to be the only suitable thing in the area to sleep on... unless these folks didn't sleep on anything, but they didn't even have fur for any sort of cushion, so he rather doubted that. "And... uh..." he spoke, before trailing off. A presumable place to sleep was one thing, but anything and everything else... he wasn't even sure where to start thinking on the purpose of. That the clock was the next thing he tried to fiddle with, only to be met with a sharp noise from its alarm he'd unfortunately, temporarily triggered, didn't exactly help the matter.

"It's loud..." he muttered, before turning to Cat. "Er... show me this stuff?" he requested, giving a little wave around the room in general in hopes that she'd get that he hadn't the first clue about anything here. It was all just... radically different than anything he was used to. And for all he knew, he might have alerted one of the people that Cat seemed to be avoiding. That would be... unfortunate.

'Bed', then, it was. And 'sleep'. And if that was 'sleep', perhaps that was 'night' (when else would someone sleep?)... and if that was the case... yes, more words he could potentially use, assuming he had them right. He... probably had so far with the guesses he'd been open about. It was still hard to be certain, but the same could be said of most everything in this overall encounter, so... ah well.

Whatever was the case, he wasn't sure he liked this needlessly noisy 'clock'.

Then this 'closet' some sort of small enclave for 'clothes', which was another word translated, apparently. And here his kin just left them lying around without much care. Why should they care when everything would inevitably get dirty and worn out thanks to all their time spent hunting and doing similar activities? Leaving that at a mere point of needless strangeness these people partook in, he wandered over after Cat as she went to a different, smaller area. With another of these odd little things that controlled light around it, no less. And... water. Even though there shouldn't have been water for a little ways, he well knew. Yet another of the curious mysteries of this place.

So what was there, then, but for him to experiment to further figure these things out? Fiddling a little with the apparent controls to make the water come out, he winced slightly and quickly pulled his hand back after but a moment reaching for the now thoroughly scalding hot water coming out. He just had no luck with some of these things, it was seeming like, though now he was left also wondering how water even got so hot. Though if it came from here... managing to hold that thought for a moment or two, he strayed over to the sink and experimented a little there. And indeed, more water from the smaller but relatively similar-looking opening for it. Enough and not too hot this time for him to dip his muzzle sideways under it and get a bit of a needed drink. He had gone a little while without, after all.

"All... Cat's?" he inquired, glancing a little around the room and bathroom in general. If this was all one person's... that wasn't bad at all, no doubt. "Can we see out there, too?" he added as a point of further interest, his eyes fixing on the way they'd come in for a few moments before returning to the female himself... including leaving 'we' in her tongue as one of the fairly few words he'd yet (presumably) picked up.

This was quite interesting so far, but it felt a little... strange to be in someone else's apparent home, and there was still so much else he wanted to see.

Jordan was glad to be off shift for awhile. He was not on call tonight and he had a day off tomorrow. Normally he would have just gone in anyways, but the nurses made him promise to take some time off for himself. He finished drying himself off from his shower and opened his closet. Maybe I’ll make my way down to the dining area and grab some food. Maybe even see if there’s anyone to just hang out with. He though as he pulled a pair of denim jeans and a black t-shirt out of his closet and put them on. He buckled his black leather belt and was reaching for his boots when he heard a pounding at the door. Then he heard her voice.

He sighed slightly before speaking loud enough for her to hear him through the door. ”One second.” He walked over and opened the door, then quickly turned back around and made his way to his boots. ”What did you do this time?” he said with mock boredom. He slid his feet into the boots and laced them up before turning to look at Catrina…and her robed friend.

”And who is this?” And do I even want to know? He thought

The Doc called out through the door but Cat didn’t stop banging on it. Actually she didn’t stop until the door was open. As Jordan walked back towards the bed she noticed he was in casual clothes, something she had never seen. He looked good dressed down. She watched for a moment as he sat to put his boots on, but it wasn’t long before she was glancing back and forth down the hall looking to see if anyone was coming all the while Kai introduced himself.

Quickly Cat placed a hand on Kai’s back and gave him a nudge into the room and closed the door behind her. No one had seen them luckily. With her hand still on his back she latched onto the blanket and tugged it allowing it to crumble to the floor at his feet. “Look what I found! This is Kai!” She chirped happily glancing back at the Doc to see his reaction.

Cat just knew he’d be excited like her, how couldn’t he be. She had found life outside their race, and as far as she knew she was the first to do so. Everyone should be excited, especially considering he wasn’t hostile or anything.

And in he went, per Cat's prodding, it seemed. Ah well; her territory, such as it were, so her way in general, he supposed. He wasn't sure if he was supposed to be going into someone else's little home, really, but considering he apparently was doing so now, might as well just go with it.

All the better for the fact that the 'blanket' came off soon after, allowing him not to have to deal with that any more. At least for now; no doubt it would see use again soon enough for the purpose of hiding around.

Shame he still didn't know most of the language, granted...

So with that still in the way, he watched curiously as the new male figure spoke, catching only a bare few familiar words here and there. Beyond that, he was merely aware that this new person -- JD? -- was panicking about something or other, presumably to do with the fox man himself. "Friend," he merely assured with a continued friendly grin, giving the man a small pat on the shoulder in deference to not knowing what else to do, or what actually the man had said. "I don't... understand much else," he spoke... albeit in his own language, for lack of knowing any words that translated there. He was definitely going to have to work on that more, no doubt, but at least he knew some words. He was getting there, slowly but surely. "Er... this is... JD's home?" he asked, in English this time as he pieced together a few more recent words.

Jordan took a deep breath, his fingers still running through his hair. He looked at the creature as it patted his shoulder. He put on a weak smile before turning and pacing the room. His mind raced as Catrina spoke. He knew they were going to get in huge trouble if someone found out about Kia. But he couldn’t let this breach go. Who knew what diseases the creature might carry that he could pass to humans. He would have to decontaminate himself and Catrina. And now that he was thinking about it, Kia probably needed it too. Who know what we could pass to him.

”No kidding we have to get him outside. He’s a walking biohazard. No offense Kia.” He said, taking a quick glance at the creature. ”Problem is, I don’t know how to get him out. I’ve not left the ship. You’ll have to make that plan.” Jordan said. But suddenly a though hit him. ”Actually, stay here.” He motioned to the middle of his room. ”I need to get something really quick. I’ll be right back.”

Cat watched as the doc paced back and forth in front of them. Why wasn’t he excited, why was he freaking out so badly. This was life she had found… life. If she could she would share him with everyone but she feared for his safety if she did that, so for now it would be sneaky sneaking around.

The poor photographer sighed when Jordan said she’d have to make the plan to get him out. She was a little clueless there, I guess she could do it the same way they came in, but what if he wouldn’t leave, what if he wanted to stay. She didn’t know how to correctly communicate with him that it wasn’t safe for him to stay here.

Jordan motioned for them to stay in the room as he walked off. Cat’s eye brows furrowed as she watched him. Where was he going… did he have a plan all of a sudden? Kai said something and glanced towards her. She assumed he was asking where the doc was off to but really she had no clue either way. She smiled slightly and gave a shrug.
