Nobody around, seemingly... and yet there were a myriad different people's scents around these pathways in general... that was... curious. Here he was hoping to see at least one more person sometime, and certain even that someone might've been near at one point, but so far, no such luck. Just onward through this place to another presumed 'room' that had... yet still more things that he'd not the first clue what to do with. And white; almost blindingly so for him.
Now, what to do here then since Cat had her 'camera' and he had... well... nothing in particular. The 'blanket', he supposed, which he was soon to let fall to the floor now they were in the room and he'd no real like for the thing in the first place. Not understanding anything really that JD said, he wandered over to observe for a moment what Cat was capturing reflections of with that camera of hers this time, before making his way over to the table around the middle of the room and kneeling down to idly shuffle through a few of the things there. Who knew, maybe there'd be something that he had some familiarity at all with here (though so far it wasn't seeming likely), or at least something of interest.
Insofar as he still wanted to see and learn so much more; shame to that end that he still didn't understand most of what these people were saying, else it might be so much easier.

Dr McKinley went about the lab setting up, and running multiple tests on the blood samples. He set the computer to send the results directly to his tablet. As soon as all the tests where running, he threw away the old vials and walked over to the table. He turned and looked at Catrina as she was still walking around and taking pictures. He leaned back against the table and crossed his arms.
”So. How are we going to get Kai out of here without getting caught?” He asked while slowly raising an eyebrow.

Cat took a moment to look up from her camera and smile as Kai as he watched what she was doing. Right now she was just as lost and confused and amazed as he was. The photographer took a few more shots before looking up to Jordan as he spoke. “I really don’t know…” She said with a sad look on her face.
Honestly Cat had no idea how to get him back out… she hadn’t thought that far ahead really. A few plans ran through her head but all of them seemed to have holes. “Maybe we could hide him until dark and sneak him out then. Might be less people out and about.”
More words spoken, to which Kai's ears perked even as he was looking through other things. JD was leaving his... stuff for now, so the talk was probably regarding the fox man himself... and they seemed so concerned about him not being spotted, and there were a scant few words he already recognized in there, inclusive of his own name that proved the little theory he'd made a mere moment previous... hm... yes, he was reasonably certain he had it. At least what JD said... not so much what Cat replied with. Failing that, he could merely hope and assume whatever she was saying.
"I can... stay with Cat for now, then?" he asked, tilting his head a little to the side. "Will be okay; won't get caught yet," he assured with a little grin.
An assurance he wasn't actually certain he could guarantee, considering how far he desperately wanted to wander, but it was still there. And if he got to stay with his first actual friend anyway, then all the better, to which end he went over to grab the blanket again and wrap it over himself. "And... er... see more of Hyperion?" he requested. His reason for being here, after all.

”I guess that would work. At the very least, it’s the only plan we have right now.” Jordan shifted his weight from one foot to the other, trying to alleviate some of the stress of the situation. He looked over at Kai as he spoke and gave him a slight nod in response to his question. A slight frown found his face as Kai pulled the blanket back over himself.
”I don’t think a tour would be the best idea.” He replied before turning back to Catrina.
”Where could we go until dusk so we won’t be found?”

Cat nodded. She didn’t know where to keep him that was safe. They couldn’t stay here in the lab, there was no telling when someone would need the place and just barge in. They needed to move and they needed to do it soon. But where… where to go.
Just then Cat’s stomach grumbled. She glanced at Kai and he wrapped the blanket around himself once again. “I don’t know but we need to get some food. Its getting close to dinner time. Maybe we can sneak into the dinning hall and gather some food and hide out in my place for now?”
'Food'? The fox's ears perked up instantly upon even hearing that word, regardless of not understanding most anything else the two had said, even visibly so through slight lumps in the blanket atop his head. He'd not even eaten for some time, and then it had only been that small piece of... whatever the odd thing was that Cat had given him earlier. Just that wasn't exactly very filling, suffice it to say; he honestly needed more, and if that was where they were going...
"Alright, we get food!" Kai affirmed, carefully snatching one of Cat's hands and leading her out from there back to the hallway before sniffing around a little. 'Twas one thing that there were quite a few scents from all the people here to try and piece through, but if it was food, even unfamiliar food? That, at least, he'd quite a bit of confidence he could track down. To that end he chose a direction soon enough and set off in it, still covered by the blanket (as much as he didn't entirely enjoy it) and intently taking Cat, at least, with him.
Still more of their different food to try after only seeing a single bit of it before sounded to him like the proposition, and he was hungry, so why shouldn't he pursue it?

Before he could respond to the idea for getting food, Kai had already grabbed Catrina and made their way into the hallway. Jordan spun quickly, throwing his things into the bag. He then shouldered the bag and exited into the hallway. He turned in the direction of the dining room and made his way towards the woman and blanket walking down the hall. He quickly caught up and fell into stride with them.
”Food is a good idea, but the dining room is going to be busy. We need to go to one of the back-up kitchens. Less chance of getting caught.” Jordan didn’t want to think of what was going to happen to him and Catrina when one of the officers found out what they had been doing. Until then, he was determined to keep the three companions out of sight as much as possible until time to leave the ship.

Cat was busy talking and looking at Jordan to notice the excitement in the fox creature. It wasn’t until he grabbed hold of her that her attention averted to him. “Oh dear!” She exclaimed as he took her hand and drug her from the room. She began to resist but was quickly darting after him eyeing the hallway for others as they made their way down it.
Jordan made a good point. They needed to go somewhere less crowed. The back up kitchen was a good idea. “This way!” She told Kai, pulling him down a hallway towards on of the back up kitchens. Luckily for them there was no one around and they quickly made it where they were headed. It was dark inside and Cat had never been in here, she was clueless to where anything was let alone the lights. Maybe Jordan new, so she wondered far enough into the kitchen and walked up to an island bumping into it. “Can you get the lights, Doc?”
No... maybe they were. Maybe a little less food, so far as his nose could tell, off this way, but some food nonetheless. At least, he presumed it to be food; it smelled like something he'd assume food might smell like, unfamiliar or not.
"What will we... get?" Kai spoke, unfortunately breaking back into his own language both for lack of knowing all the translated words even for the simple statement and for his brain steadily having a harder and harder time keeping up with the slowly cracking barrier between their languages. Best he could manage otherwise was wandering quietly around and rummaging a little merely in the first thing he found... which... definitely wasn't food. Far too hard to be, unless there was some trick to the strange little things. Utensils, he might eventually learn, but for now he hadn't the first clue what they were or what they might be used for... only that they were of no present use to him.
Food, then... there had to be some somewhere around here, to which end he sniffed around intently, trying at least to find something that might smell about the best. If he was going to have something to eat, might as well try some of the best-smelling it had to offer first... right?
